Natural antioxidant Resveratrol

The list of natural antioxidants is always growing. One of the latest entry to the list is resveratrol which is found in grapes, peanuts and blue berries. Human body has developed resistance to attack from micro organisms and bacteria. Similarily, plants also protect themselves from fungus and micro organism attack. Resveratrol in grape is concentrated around the skin and protects against fungal and micro organism decay.

Sources and Benefits of Resveratrol

This compound is found in much larger quantities in red wine than in white, due to there being not much if it in the white skin. Resveratrol is also found in peanuts.

1 gram of Peanut generally contain one microgram of resveratrol, but red grape may contain up to 80 micrograms. Thus a glass of red wine may have upto 800 microgram of resveratrol. Some studies have shown that resveratrol provides resistance against cardiac arrests, heart diseases and stimulate the human system against cancer. Also, it has shown to hinder obesity by its antioxidant action.

Thus resveratrol acts as a anti proliferative drug. Also, it is believed that this compound has anti inflammatory action. Inflammation is believed to be a root cause of all the chronic diseases like cardiac diseases and cancer. Plant food containing natural anti inflammatory can be taken on regular basis to prevent inflammation without causing any risk to health.
